Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mwizarubi Mwendwa was born on November 19, 1982. He is the sixth child among nine children of Father Alexius Magangali Mwendwa (deceased) and Mother Imelda Nalwendela.

**SACRAMENTS:**

Emmanuel Mwizarubi was baptized on August 18, 1996, and received his first communion on the same day at St. Joseph Sumve Parish in the Archdiocese of Mwanza. He received the sacrament of confirmation on October 13, 1996, at St. Joseph Sumve Parish, Archdiocese of Mwanza.

**EDUCATION:**

He completed his primary education (grades I – VII) at Sumve (Mapinduzi) Primary School from 1991 to 1997. From 1998 to 2002, he attended secondary education at St. Pius X Minor Seminary in Makoko, Musoma. In 2004, he joined Bunda Teachers' College for a diploma in teaching (III A) and taught at Nyalwelwe Primary School in Bulungwa, Kahama, for three years. In 2008, he joined Tabora Teachers' College for a teaching diploma.

**JOURNEY TO PRIESTHOOD:**

Emmanuel Mwizarubi Mwendwa joined the formation center of Bishop Mario Mgulunde in Kipalapala in 2010, then continued his studies in Philosophy at St. Anthony of Padua Major Seminary in Ntungamo, Bukoba from 2010 to 2013. From 2013 to 2017, he studied at St. Karoli Lwanga Major Seminary in Segerea, Dar es Salaam.

In 2018, he continued his pastoral year of service at Usongo Parish - Tabora. From 2019 to 2021, he taught at Ng'hundya Primary School from 2000 to 2006. After completing primary school, he was selected to join Bungulwa Secondary School, where he studied until 2008. He then decided to join minor seminary studies, and in 2009 he was selected to join Sayusayu Preparatory Seminary in Shinyanga. From 2010 to 2013, he studied secondary education at St. Mary Nyegezi Minor Seminary. He completed Form 5 and 6 at Mafinga Minor Seminary in the Diocese of Iringa from 2014 to 2016.

**PRIESTLY FORMATION:**

He joined the House of Formation of St. John Paul II in Kawekamo, Archdiocese of Mwanza, in 2016. From 2016 to 2019, he studied Philosophy at St. Anthony of Padua Major Seminary in Ntungamo, Bukoba. He then studied Theology at St. Karoli Lwanga Major Seminary in Segerea, Dar es Salaam, from 2019 to 2020.

From 2020 to 2024, he continued his theological studies at the University of Navarra in Spain, while being formed at the International Major Seminary Bidasoa in Navarra, Spain. On March 7, 2022, he was formally received as a candidate for the sacred orders by Msgr. Giovanni Pietro Dal Toso, Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.

On November 13, 2022, he received the ministry of Lector at the International Major Seminary Bidasoa in Spain from His Excellency Msgr. Santos Montoya Torres, Bishop of Calahorra and Calzada - Logroño, Spain. On December 10, 2023, he was conferred the ministry of Acolyte by Rev. Fr. Javier Ruza - Gambera of the International Bidasoa Seminary in Spain.
