BENEDICTINE SISTERS
African Benedictine Sisters Of our Lady Help of Christian Kawekamo Mwanza was founded after the late Pope St. John Paul II Visitation on 4th
September 1990, by the late, Archbishop Anthony Mayala. It is a branch
from the African Benedictine Sisters of Our Lady Help of Christians
Ndanda Mtwara – Tanzania under the Umbrella of the same Mother General
Sr. M. Auxlia Hokororo OSB. The First profession was held in 20th
February 1998 with a total number of three Sisters followed by the
perpetual vows in the year 2007 the same Sisters. Our Charism is to
incarnate Christ to all Mankind through Catechizing, Nursing the sick
and marginalized groups, teaching schools of different levels and
capacity building to women in the rural settings. Currently, the
congregation has a total number of 12 Candidates, 12 Postulants, 14
Novices, 47 temporally professed Sisters and 45 Perpetual Sisters.
