The Education Department gained significant momentum after the government's announcement in January 1989, which encouraged religious organizations to actively participate in educational projects. A. Goals of the Education Department

  1. Establishing and Managing Secondary Schools

    • The goal is to revive the establishment of secondary schools and manage student development in both academics and moral values.
  2. Introducing Vocational Education

    • Every parish is encouraged to initiate vocational education projects to address the social and economic challenges faced by students who do not continue to secondary school or teacher training after primary education.

B. Archdiocesan Education Committee

The Education Department has an Education Committee, which meets four times a year to discuss and address the following issues:

  • Reports on school financial management and administrative matters.
  • Various educational challenges within the Archdiocese.

Responsibilities of the Education Committee:

  • Interpreting and implementing the vision and mission of the Archdiocese regarding education.

C. Pastoral Vision

Seminaries of the Archdiocese:

  • St. Mary’s Seminary, Nyegezi
  • St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mwanza

Secondary Schools:

Spiritual Activities
