Parish of God's Mercy – Bulale began in 1980 as a mission of St. Isidore, holding services at Bulale Primary School. In 1990, Elder John Linus (deceased) provided land for the construction of a church so that the faithful could stop worshipping in the school. The faithful were very grateful for Elder John Linus's gesture, and they built the church, initially thatching it with grass under his leadership as Chairperson. Later, the elders of Bulale proposed that the administrator of the mission be St. Isidore (the Farmer) due to the historical background of the residents of this area being farmers. The faithful continued to make all efforts to ensure the mission of St. Isidore – Bulale developed, including improving the church building and constructing a permanent toilet. On July 6, 2018, the mission of St. Isidore was elevated to a designated parish of Bulale by His Grace Archbishop Yuda Thadaeus Ruwa’ichi and placed under the administration of God's Mercy. Today, on April 23, 2022, it is officially inaugurated as a full parish. The general principle for recognizing pastoral services considers geographical boundaries, namely land (refer to CIC, Can 518). Therefore, the areas recognized as the mother mission of the designated parish of God’s Mercy – Bulale. This designated parish of God’s Mercy in Bulale encompasses the entire church area now known as the designated parish of Bulale, which includes the missions of Bulale and Nyakagwe. The Bulale mission has six (06) neighborhoods with a total of twenty-nine (29) communities. The Nyakagwe mission has three (03) neighborhoods with a total of fifteen (15) communities. His Grace Archbishop Renatus Nkwande entrusted the designated parish of God’s Mercy - Bulale to the pastoral management of Nyegezi Seminary, led by Fr. Theophil Kumalija in 2020, assisted by Fr. Bernadin Mtula, Fr. Sigismund Nyamungwa, Fr. John Nkwabi, and Fr. William Ndonhe. Later, Fr. Kumalija was transferred, and the leadership was handed over to Fr. Mtula, who was joined by Fr. William Lebba and Deacon Enock Mutegeki in the pastoral team. Up to today, the day of inauguration, several developments have taken place, including the completion of the priests' house, a modern toilet for the faithful, and a celebration platform. We also anticipate starting the construction of a church with parish status and enclosing the parish area with a fence. We thank God for His blessings and guidance for us, the people of Bulale; we also thank the Archbishop Renatus Leonard Nkwande for elevating this designated parish to full parish status.
