KALWANDE TECHNICAL COLLEGE owned by the Catholic Church, the Mwanza Archdiocese has a short-term training program (two weeks) to those who work in various technical jobs without formal training; these people are brought to the college and trained for free with the funding from various sponsor organizations and the College administration.
They also provide long-term training (two to three years). On October 12, 2024, this year's graduates have been empowered with capital to start their own business after graduation, they have been given equipment’s such as sewing machines and three months rent as a takeoff.
These are the efforts made by the leadership of the Catholic Church of Mwanza Archdiocese, under the leadership of the Archbishop Renatus Nkwande in ensuring that they support young people to empower them towards self-employment.
Beneficiaries are all people regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
