Re. Fr. Raphael D. Kapi was born on 22/08/1990 at Bugando Referral Hospital, the youngest child among ten of Father Daudi Kappi and Mother Maria Kuya.

CATHOLIC FAITH:

He was baptized on 26/12/1991 at Chato Parish, received First Communion in 2001 at Chato Parish, and was confirmed in 2002 at Chato Parish.

EDUCATION:

He completed primary education in 2005 at Nyabulanda Primary School - Geita. From 2006 to 2009, he attended Form I - IV at Mwanza Secondary School.

From 2010 to 2013, he earned a Diploma in Electrical Engineering at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT).

CALL TO RELIGIOUS LIFE AND PRIESTHOOD:

In 2013, he began the first stage of Postulancy at the Miyuji Formation House in Dodoma with the Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin in the Province of Tanzania.

In 2014, he continued to the second stage of Postulancy at the Jangwani Formation House - Ifakara with the Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin in the Province of Tanzania.

In 2015, he attended the Novitiate at Kasita - Mahenge for formation in the Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin in the Province of Tanzania.

On 21/07/2016, he made his first vows in the Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin in the Province of Tanzania.

From 2016 to 2017, he served at the Spiritual Center in Mbagala, Dar es Salaam.

From 2017 to 2020, he studied Philosophy at Tangaza University in Nairobi, Kenya.

From 2020 to 2024, he studied Theology at Jordan University College in Morogoro.

On 19/10/2023, he made perpetual vows in the Order of the Friars Minor Capuchin in the Province of Tanzania at Jordan University College in Morogoro.

On 20/10/2023, he was ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Salutaris M. Libena of the Catholic Diocese of Ifakara at Jordan University College in Morogoro.

He invites us to pray with him today, 21/09/2024, as he receives the holy order of priesthood. May God bless us all in everything we do.
